l Organised the Crop Day for farmers in the field under ICRISAT-Model Watershed Project, Domagor Pahuj, Babina block of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The programme included demonstration of crop trials and other interventions like agro-forestry, water resource development, soil conservation, and how you can demostrate formation of community based institutions and livelihoods.
 		  

 

TARA Livelihood Academy (TLA)

  
 


l Conducted seven-day Course on Development Management for the students of Aravali Institute of Management, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It saw participation of 35 students.

l Conducted three-day training on operationlisation, management and income generation of Self Help Group (SHG) for 36 women SHG members under Integrated Watershed Management Programme, Datia.
 

  
 

Innovation Systems Branch (ISB)

  
 


l Facilitated a sharing event on "New approaches on Climate Resilient Growth in Semi-arid region of India" on October 20 at TARAgram Orchha. The objective of workshop was to share the Bundelkhand Knowledge Platform initiatives and participatory village energy planning toolkit. 

l Development Alternatives has started an initiative on enabling access to safe water for the underprivileged sections of the country through facilitating access to technology, awareness and advocacy. The initiative is supported by Department for International Development, United Kingdom and Eawag Aquatic Research.
 

  
  Communication Solutions Branch (CSB)  
 


l Under the Gender and Innovation Knowledge and Communication Platform project funded by IDRC, the web site has been activated - www.genderandinnovation.org and the first issue of the newsletter "Imagine" has been published.

l CSB will organise the basin - South Asia international conference on November 27 in collaboration with Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited and Building Materials & Technology Promotion Council.

l TARAgram Yatra 2011 will be organised from November 21-25. It will be launched at a press confrence in New Delhi on November 21 and the Capacity Building Workshop on ‘Resource Efficiency and Green Transformation’ will be held at TARAgram Orchha, Madhya Pradesh from November 22-25 2011.
